7 Video Ideas for Local Businesses (Steal These Scripts)

The hardest part of video marketing isn’t production anymore — AI video production handles that from $199 in about a week. The hard part is the blank page: what should the video actually say? Most local businesses stall right there, and the video never gets made.

So don’t start from scratch. Below are seven video concepts that work for almost any local business — plumber, dentist, accountant, med spa. Each one comes with a script skeleton you can copy (hook → beats → call to action), a recommended length and style, and the platform where it earns its keep. Steal freely.

1. The 30-second intro promo

This is the workhorse: who you help, what you do, and why you — compressed into half a minute. If you make one video this year, make this one.

  • Script skeleton: Hook — “Homeowners in [city]: who do you call when [problem] hits?” → Beat 1: name the service and who it’s for. → Beat 2: your one strongest differentiator (years in business, guarantee, same-day service). → Beat 3: a quick trust signal. → CTA: “Call today for a free estimate.”
  • Length & style: 30 seconds, motion graphics — the versatile default for brand intros.
  • Where to run it: your homepage above the fold, plus a vertical cut as a Meta ad and a Google Business Profile post. One video, three jobs.

2. The offer video

A promotion deserves more than a static graphic in the feed. Put the deal in motion and give it a deadline — urgency reads better when it moves.

  • Script skeleton: Hook — lead with the offer itself: “$89 AC tune-up. This month only.” → Beat 1: what’s included, in three fast bullets. → Beat 2: the deadline or limit, stated plainly. → CTA: “Book before [date] — tap to claim.”
  • Length & style: 15 seconds, kinetic typography — message-first punch for a single strong claim.
  • Where to run it: Meta ads with radius targeting is the natural home — creative is the biggest performance lever there, as we covered in Facebook & Instagram ads for local services. Post the same cut to reels and stories while the offer runs.
One message per video. The offer video sells the offer. The intro promo sells the business. Don’t merge them. If you’re tempted to squeeze in a second point, that’s your next video — at AI prices, making seven small videos beats cramming everything into one.

3. The “how it works” explainer

People hesitate when they can’t picture the process. What happens after I call? Will it be a hassle? A process explainer removes the mystery — and hesitant buyers along with it.

  • Script skeleton: Hook — “Wondering what happens after you book?” → Beat 1: step one, in one sentence. → Beat 2: step two. → Beat 3: step three, ending with the result they get. → CTA: “Start with step one — request your free quote.”
  • Length & style: 60–90 seconds, explainer or whiteboard style — built for services people don’t fully understand.
  • Where to run it: your service pages and homepage. This one is for warm visitors already reading about you, not cold feeds.

4. The objection-killer

Every business has one objection it hears on every sales call. “It’s too expensive.” “It’ll take too long.” “I can do it myself.” Answer it once, on camera, and let the video handle it before the call ever happens.

  • Script skeleton: Hook — say the objection out loud: “Think professional [service] costs too much?” → Beat 1: acknowledge why they think that — it’s a fair worry. → Beat 2: reframe with your answer (flat-rate pricing, no contracts, what doing nothing costs). → CTA: “Get the real number — free quote, no pressure.”
  • Length & style: 30–45 seconds, motion graphics or character animation — character works well when the tone should feel friendly, not defensive.
  • Where to run it: Meta retargeting ads aimed at site visitors who didn’t convert, and embedded near the pricing section of your service page.

5. The seasonal reminder

HVAC tune-ups before summer. Gutter cleaning before fall. Tax prep in February. If your business has a season, a reminder video meets customers right when the need surfaces — and beats competitors who wait for the phone to ring.

  • Script skeleton: Hook — tie it to the calendar: “Summer’s coming. Is your AC ready?” → Beat 1: what goes wrong for people who wait. → Beat 2: the easy fix — your seasonal service. → CTA: “Schedule before the rush.”
  • Length & style: 15–30 seconds, kinetic typography or motion graphics. Keep it light and fast.
  • Where to run it: Meta ads timed 3–4 weeks before the season peaks, plus a Google Business Profile post. Make it once, rerun it every year.
Design for sound-off. Most people scroll feeds on mute, so every script above must work as on-screen text alone. Write your hook as words on screen, not words in a voiceover — the voiceover is a bonus for the minority who unmute.

6. The before/after showcase

If your work is visible — landscaping, remodeling, detailing, smile makeovers — the transformation is the pitch. Your job is just to frame it and get out of the way.

  • Script skeleton: Hook — show the “before” with one line: “This kitchen was stuck in 1987.” → Beat 1: the reveal — hold on the “after.” → Beat 2: one line on timeline or scope: “Done in twelve days.” → CTA: “Yours could be next — book a free design visit.”
  • Length & style: 15–30 seconds, cinematic montage style built from your own project photos — polished pacing does the talking.
  • Where to run it: reels and Meta ads first — transformations stop the scroll. Then a gallery spot on your homepage.

7. The FAQ answer video

Take the one question every customer asks and answer it in under a minute. It builds trust, saves your team the same phone conversation ten times a week, and gives you an endless content series — one video per question.

  • Script skeleton: Hook — ask the question exactly as customers do: “How long does [service] actually take?” → Beat 1: the direct answer, first sentence, no wind-up. → Beat 2: one useful detail or exception. → CTA: “More questions? Ask us free — link below.”
  • Length & style: 45–60 seconds, explainer or character style — approachable beats slick here.
  • Where to run it: Google Business Profile posts, your FAQ page, and reels. Fresh answers signal an active business.

Pick one and ship it

Don’t try to make all seven at once. Start with the intro promo or the offer video — whichever is closer to money — and get it running as a Meta ad and a homepage embed. Then add one video a month. Because our AI video service delivers finished, ad-ready video in about 7 days from $199 flat, a video-per-month content engine costs less than most businesses spend on coffee for the break room.

Want help picking which of the seven fits your business first? Tell us your service and your best offer in a free consultation — we’ll recommend the concept, the style, and the script angle before you spend a dollar.
